You can tell that Fall is near the weather is starting to turn and the trees now have red and yellow leaves mixed in with the green leaves. What more could you ask for.

Knitting flowers from new book
I got a new book recently, that I just love. It's "100 Flowers to Knit & Crochet" by Lesley Stanfield. I have been busy making flowers, and I can't wait to add them as an accent to a hat or a scarf or anything else I can think of. So, much fun. I enjoy making the flowers not only because they are beautiful but they don't take as much time as a sweater. (I'm still working on a knitted vest I started last winter, just can get back into it). This has been a great way to use up my misc. scrap yarn. My favorite so far is the "Scottish Thistle". I like the color combination and texture.
Can't wait to try out all of the patterns.
Third Place Ribbon at Idaho State Fair

A friend at had entered some items at the Idaho State Fair and she suggested that I enter one of my tote bags. She gave me all of the entry information and down to the Fair I went. It was so much fun seeing all of the entries and the excitement of the Fair. What a surprise it was when I found out I had won a Ribbon, my husband had spotted it first while we were looking around. I have to say it's all about the progress that was a lot of fun for me. Can't wait till next year, already thinking of what to do.

A preview of what I have been working on recently.
A Girl can never get enough purses or tote bags......

I'm selling several of these on ETSY, take a look at my shop and see what you think.
- I love working with recycled felted wool sweaters. They are so much fun. This purse was made from two different sweaters, one was a black with embroidery and the other was a solid red sweater. I used the black as an accent at the top of the bag and the red as the body and flap. The flap has been stitched several times to give it the texture. A vintage shell button with ribbon finishes it off. The light purple has some felted flowers using different color which makes a great color combination for spring.
Another project that I've been sewing and working on, are tote bags made from designer fabric sample's. I use different pieces of fabric and sew them together to create one of a kind bag. On these two tote bags I have also add leather pockets. The lining inside has several pockets to hold the small stuff. I love the unique style of these bags.

Hats, hats and more hats
This past winter I could not get enough of knitted hats. i enjoyed the different colors of yarns and the patterns that I found on the Internet. Along with designing some of my own patterns. I discovered how to make bobbles, the little textured bumps so, so much fun. I added some felted flowers that I made for recycled felted sweaters. I'll be sharing with you felted sweater purses also.
